Our Fund-Raising Campaign: Catch a Star and Call It Hope (see below)
Chester County OIC is funded entirely by grants, private donations and fund-raising dollars. We are funded in part by:
Chester County OIC is a 501(c)3, and IRS regulations require that we make our Form 990 public.
The Hope Star, conceived, designed, and created by Anita Trump, a West Chester Rotarian and a friend of Chester County OIC – represents the hopes and dreams of those among us who are underemployed, unemployed, or under-skilled for whatever reason, and are looking for a better life.
One such student, Jose Ortiz, recently passed away as a result of a tragic accident. Not only a student, Jose was a beloved employee at Chester County OIC and was fulfilling his dreams of becoming a Counselor and Business person – hoping to give back to others coming behind him. You may recall that Jose received our 2010 Rising Star Award.
At 22 years old, he leaves behind a legacy of leadership, loyalty, compassion, and love. At the request of his parents, a scholarship fund has been set up in his name – the Jose Ortiz Scholarship Fund, to help other students as he was helped by Chester County OIC. Specifically, these funds will be used to support youth ages 18 – 25.
We have evolved our Catch a Star and Call it Hope campaign to support the Jose Ortiz Scholarship Fund. Each star can be purchased for $10.00, and all proceeds from the sale of the Hope Star will benefit the Jose Ortiz Scholarship Fund. The stars are available at Chester County OIC, 790 E. Market St. in West Chester, PA. If you would like a star mailed to you, please add $4.00 for shipping and handling.
